Security and compliance
The information buyers and building owners need to assess data handling, site requirements and operating responsibilities.
What is actually in the room
A ten-kilowatt mill, on 415 V three-phase at twenty amps a phase, off the board that already feeds the floor; no new connection. It draws 14.0 to 14.4 kW at the meter, not ten, and the room rejects that heat. It is air-cooled, so there is no water draw, no structural work and no plant room. Inside the enclosure, next to the accelerator trays, sit a meter and a distribution unit.
Each item below says where it is set: in the enclosure, in your agreement or in a filing. The compliance pack explains how each one applies to your deployment.
The full specificationFor buyers
A dedicated mill is a machine you can name in a contract, in a room you control, with an audit clause your counsel will recognise.
Eight things to check
For buildings
When your building hosts capacity for others: a named electrical regime, your existing fire NOC, Azita's insurance, first to shed, nothing to staff.
Six things to rely on
The dedicated mill
Everything below describes a dedicated installation for one customer, and each item is confirmed in your agreement. For work on the Azita fleet, the custody terms are the ones in your service agreement.
One machine, one customer. Isolation is physical, not a setting in a console.
Smoke detection, clean-agent suppression and an alarm-triggered power cut-off are built into the enclosure. Who holds access is written into the agreement.
On a dedicated installation, requests and results are processed in your room, and the machine is not lent to anyone else's work. Where the work may run is agreed before any work starts, and the compliance pack explains how that boundary is enforced.
Inputs are processed and returned rather than written to a durable store on the machine. What may be kept, and for how long, is set in your agreement.
Where the machine sits, which law governs it and who may touch it are terms of the agreement, so residency is written down rather than assumed.
SourceYour auditors can walk in, read the logs and inspect the machine on the terms set in your agreement.
Exit and erasure terms are set out in your agreement, and the compliance pack describes them before you sign.
We quote none. Availability commitments are agreed for your site and workload.
SourceWhat exit looks like
Exit and erasure terms are set out in your agreement: what happens to on-site media, and how the machine leaves the room.
Controls
AzExchange is Azita's metering layer. It measures the work an installation does, so your own use and any optional sale rest on a measured record. The controls that apply to your work, and how they are enforced, are set out in your agreement and in the compliance pack.
Set in your agreement
Which jurisdictions, buildings and providers your work may use, set in your agreement before any work is placed.
Any spend ceilings or usage limits for your teams or projects are agreed with you and written into your agreement.
Who may reach the machine and its records, and on what terms, set out in your agreement.
The order matters. These are agreed before any work is placed, not reconstructed from an invoice afterwards.
What a usage record makes readable
What work the record describes: the agreed job or service.
Where the processing is agreed to take place.
The model information that applies to the workload.
The measured quantity, the period it covers and the unit defined in your proposal.
The fields follow the illustrative usage record on the AzExchange page. It is a field structure for discussion, not an exported record.
Reproducibility
Pin the weights and pin the index, and an auditor can ask for this model, this snapshot, on this machine. Capacity rented by the hour rarely gives that answer, because the machine is not the renter's to name.
Coverage
Often only a sanitised part of an organisation's data gets indexed, because sending the rest out triggers legal review. When the work runs in your building, more of the record can be read without an upload review.
Freshness and depth
A local index can update as records are written, and retrieval stays close to the data. Retrieval can go deeper, and the answer is built on today's records rather than last quarter's export.
Reproducibility
The model version, the index snapshot and the machine are recorded together, so an audit can re-run the question against all three.
It is a small machine, and that is the point. An eight-billion-parameter model, quantised, is 4.5 GB against 1,536 GB of memory in one mill, so an entire knowledge stack, index and models together, fits inside one room.Source
Electrical, fire, insurance
This group applies when a building hosts capacity for others under a hosting agreement. The mill meets the electrical and fire regime of wherever it stands; India is the first market, so the filings named here are the Indian ones. On a hosting agreement, nothing here asks anything of your facilities team beyond one survey visit, Azita does the filings and carries the cost, and your disclosure to your own insurer is drafted for you. For a customer's own installation, ownership, funding, insurance and costs are confirmed in that agreement.
A state-licensed electrical contractor does the work. An independent Chartered Electrical Safety Engineer is engaged per site. The test report is filed with the Electrical Inspector before energisation, and Inspector approval is sought where a trigger fires.
SourceThe mill draws from your existing sanctioned load off the board that already feeds the floor, with no new connection, and reads 14.0 to 14.4 kW at the meter. It is never wired to your generator or your UPS, and by contract it is the first load to shed.
SourceThe mill enters as equipment under Part 4 of the National Building Code, on your existing NOC file. Azita prepares the file; you sign as the NOC holder.
SourceSmoke detection to IS 2189 and an alarm-triggered power cut-off are built in. There are no lithium batteries inside by design, so there is no battery fire to plan for.
SourceThe mill moves air and your room rejects the heat on the cooling it already has. Nothing is cut, nothing is poured, and no cooling plant is added to the building.
SourceNo manpower from your side and no change to your own supply. Every unit the machine draws is metered on a revenue-grade meter and reimbursed at your own tariff, as a separate line, never netted.
SourceInsurance sits outside the list because it is not a filing. On a hosting agreement the mill runs on Azita's policy, your building is named as an additional insured, and Azita drafts the one disclosure endorsement your property insurer needs, so the disclosure is done for you rather than by you.
No third-party scheme certifies a machine of this kind inside an occupied building. Nothing is inherited: no TIA-942, no Uptime Institute tier, no ISO 27001.
So we say certification-ready, and we say it on purpose. Azita is writing the checklist. The type file is cleared once and reused, and every site is inspected and filed again. When a third party puts its name to the type, that name and that date will appear on this page.
Pre-cleared by the type file
Done again at every site
Availability is agreed for your site and workload. No uptime figure appears on this site.
Regimes
The mill meets the electrical and fire regime of wherever it stands. India is the first market, so the first checklist we wrote is the Indian one: CEA (Safety) Regulations 2023, the National Building Code, IS 732, IS 2189, BIS CRS and E-Waste EPR. Every regime here links to its text on the sources page.
| Regime | What it governs | What Azita files | Who signs |
|---|---|---|---|
| CEA (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2023Source | The electrical installation and its energisation on the building's existing connection. | Engagement of a licensed electrical contractor and a Chartered Electrical Safety Engineer per site; the test report to the Electrical Inspector before energisation; Inspector approval where a trigger fires. | Licensed electrical contractor. Chartered Electrical Safety Engineer. Electrical Inspector, where required. |
| National Building Code of India, Part 4Source | Fire and life safety inside an occupied building. The mill enters as equipment under the building's existing fire NOC. | The equipment schedule and the detection and suppression specification, for the owner's existing NOC file. | The building owner as NOC holder, with the file prepared by Azita. |
| BIS Compulsory Registration SchemeSource | Registration of the electronics and IT goods inside the mill. The legacy safety standards are being withdrawn; the date is on the sources page. | Registration numbers per component in the build sheet. Every component swap is re-checked against the live standard, not the one in force when the type file was written. | The component manufacturer holds the registration. Azita verifies it in the build sheet. |
| IS 732:2019, electrical wiring installationsSource | Wiring inside the mill and the tie-in to the building's panel. | The wiring specification in the type file; per-site test results attached to the Electrical Inspector filing. | Licensed electrical contractor. Chartered Electrical Safety Engineer. |
| IS 2189:2008, automatic fire detection and alarmSource | Smoke detection inside the enclosure and its alarm interface to the building's fire panel. | The detection layout and the alarm interface drawing, both in the NOC file. | The installer. The NOC holder acknowledges the interface. |
| E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022Source | How the hardware leaves service at end of life. | Registration on the CPCB EPR portal; disposal only through a registered recycler, with the recycler's certificate held on file. | Azita. The registered recycler. |
