For building owners / Hospital campus

Critical load comes first. The assessment starts there.

A campus is sanctioned for the worst day and runs around the clock, which leaves a narrower margin than an office and a far better cooling plant. A locked room off the services block may support an installation. An assessment and your agreement determine suitability, responsibilities and payment.

For hospital campuses

Everything on a campus is critical. The sanctioned load was set accordingly.

Imaging, theatres, the chiller plant, sterilisation, a DG farm to carry all of it: the connection was sized for the day every one of those peaks together, and the fixed charges cover that figure every month. Most days the draw is well under it. What a hospital will not do, rightly, is put its DG, its UPS or its clinical load at risk, so the assessment starts from them.

Where the room usually is

A locked room off the plant or services block, the old medical records store that digitisation emptied, a room reserved for imaging that was never installed, or a bay in the engineering yard. The room has to be outside the clinical buildings and on the campus connection, and the assessment starts from which side of the panel your DG and UPS carry.

What the load does

Sanctioned for imaging, theatres, sterilisation and the chiller plant peaking together, and drawn around the clock at a level well under that on an ordinary day. The margin is narrower than an office's and the assessment says so; a teaching campus adds a vacation trough from the hostels. What a hospital has that few hosts do is a plant that already rejects heat around the clock, and an engineering team that knows its load to the kilowatt.

The assessment confirms the supply, tie-in and cooling an installation needs, and what your room can support.

Eligibility

Questions to answer first.

What decides whether a room on a hospital campus can be assessed for an installation, and what the assessment then checks on site.

Before the assessment

  1. Is there a locked room outside the clinical buildings, on the campus connection?

The starting point is a room off the services or plant block, away from wards and theatres.

  2. Can your engineering team share the single-line diagram?

It shows which side of the panel your DG and UPS carry, and the assessment reads it before anything else.

  3. What does the campus require before a contractor works in the services block?

Your own permits and access rules shape the schedule, so they are part of the assessment from the start.

What the assessment checks

  • The changeover scheme: the assessment reads the single-line diagram to see which side of the panel your DG and UPS carry
  • The metering point and the sanctioned figure against the twelve-month peak on the bills
  • Panel headroom in the services block for the tie-in an installation needs, and the run to the room
  • Heat rejection through the campus plant or a unit on the room, sized for the installation
  • Fire NOC currency for the block the room sits in, and distance from wards, theatres and gas manifolds

The general guide to the initial requirements is on the owners page.

Operating considerations

Running an installation on a hospital campus.

Backup power and critical load

How an installation relates to your DG, UPS and changeover scheme is assessed on the single-line diagram and confirmed in your agreement.

Clinical networks

Tell us how your clinical network and patient systems are arranged, so the assessment can scope the installation's connectivity around them. What connects to what is confirmed in your agreement.

Access on a working campus

Visits follow your engineering team's permits and routes, away from patient areas, and access arrangements are confirmed in your agreement.

₹7.2 La year, ₹60,000 a month

₹12.07 La year, ₹1.01 L a month
  • Rooms set the count: one pod per room that locks. Your load would carry 2 pods at 14.4 kW each at the meter.

Assumptions in this example

  • Base payment: ₹4.87 L per pod per year.
  • Additional payment: ₹7.2 L per pod per year at the modelled duty, capped at ₹15 L to ₹18 L per pod per year.
  • One pod per room that locks, and about 14.4 kW of spare sanctioned load per pod at the meter.
  • Electricity is not in these figures. How it is metered and settled is confirmed in your agreement.

Questions hospitals ask.

Could the installation ever draw from our DG or UPS?+

That is the first thing the assessment looks at. How the installation relates to your backup power is assessed on your single-line diagram and confirmed in your agreement.

Does anything touch our clinical network or patient data?+

Hosting for others is not a clinical service, and the assessment scopes the installation's connectivity around your clinical network. What connects to what is confirmed in your agreement.

Could the hospital use the capacity itself?+

Yes, as a separate route. An installation for your own AI work is a different agreement from hosting for others. The healthcare page describes that workload, and the form keeps the route you choose.

Who reviews the electrical work?+

Azita designs, installs and commissions the installation, and your own electrical consultant is welcome to review the drawings. The inspections and approvals the site needs are established in the assessment.

  • HotelA hotel is sanctioned for a full house and a banquet on the same night, and draws that a few weeks a year. A back-of-house room on that margin may support an Azita installation, subject to assessment and agreement.
  • School or collegeA campus is sanctioned for every classroom AC and lab at once, and empties at 3 pm and for the vacation. A locked room on that margin may support an Azita installation, subject to assessment and agreement.
  • IT parkAn IT park is sanctioned for every floor at full fit-out and drawn at a fraction of it. A landlord-held room on that margin may support an Azita installation, subject to assessment and agreement.
